The best way to use your roof vent was explained to us by Thomas. Open your windows at the foot and head of the bed. Turn on the roof vent and use the "Air Out" setting. This will pull the air from outside the truck through the cab and out the top providing you with a nice breeze. It works much better than the "Air In" feature.
If your vent does not seem to be pulling or pushing air very well, it may just need cleaned. If you are looking straight up at the vent, you will notice four little tabs. Move the tabs to the side and the screen will pop off. You can then clean the blades and the screen. Clean the screen in your sink with soap, water and a soft sponge.
Use the vent to pull air out when cooking in the truck and it will serve as an overhead vent just like at home. If you have or will be getting one of the new trucks with a shower, use the vent while you are in the shower and and leave it on for a little bit when you are done and have wiped down the walls. This will help to pull out steam and moisture from inside the truck.
